Wasting Time

Sorry for wasting everyone's time...

Negative Response

I'm getting a bit of Negative response, so I'm contemplating stopping the "Question of the Week". So far I have had people tell me that its stupid and that blogging is not Christian. Sorry to everyone who had fun with it but, until further notice there will be no more "Question of the Week". I also learned through this process who a lot about my "friends". It's incredible to me how much of a big deal 2 harmless questions like "your favorite Album" and "Favorite Disney movie" is to some people.

Results for "Favorite Disney, Animated Movie"

Hi Everyone, sorry I didn't get the results up last night, I just didn't get the chance. I thought this was a really fun one, I know some other people disagree with me and I could tell by their negative answers but, I thought it was a great one. Everyone from all generation grows up watching Disney movies, whether its movies like Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella to new generations watching Wall-E or Cars, Disney has a way of reaching young peoples minds and influencing youths imaginations. I know personally, as a youth especially having a younger sister, I was always watching these movies, and it really instills in you a sense of hope and good and evil. The good guys always win and the bad guys always loose, it unfortunate that when you grow up and see the world for what it really is, you find it is quite the opposite. You see dirty politicians, and criminals getting away with crimes and often times it makes you wish you could hop right back into a Disney movie and forget reality. Well that's all my crazy rambling lets get to the results.

Well It was actually pretty close, but their was a definite First place and Second place

First Place: TOY STORY

Although a Movie I like, I was shocked that it won. But then when I saw most of the people who voted for I wasn't. It got the younger vote, well mostly. you will understand when you see who voted for it.

Jared Dallman <~~~Young

Aaron Dallman <~~~Young
Eric Stelmach <~~~Young

Jon Cote <~~~NOT Young

Second Place: Aladdin

What a cast of voices, including that guy from full house who went on to do absolutely nothing. Voters were:

Voters were:

The Rest only got one vote each.

The voter was:

So that was it, I want to thank everyone who answered. I think this one was a lot of fun. It got to bring us back to our childhood a bit and remember some great movies.

You will hear from me again next Friday, but until then...

There is a couple catches with this question. Your answer can not be a Live Action Movie, it must be either Cartoon or Computer Graphic (CG)

New Band Member

I should have wrote about this a little while ago but I kept forgetting to. The band has finally got itself a bassist/keyboardist. Many of you probably know him, Joe Lindsey. We have had a couple of practices with him and it went really well. He like our sound and songs and we like him and his ability, so he decided to join. This is great news because the band is complete now so we just have to work on writing some more songs and getting them down and then we are going to try to play a show, hopefully. In other news we are still in the market for a band name. No one really liked the name "The Alliance" so we decided to drop it, names we have been kicking around are "Hypothetical High 5" (or HH5) and Wild Josh and the Straight Flames (Joe's personal favorite). Let me know what you think or if you can think of something post a comment with your ideas.

The Results for Favorite Album

I first want to thank everyone who responded, not everyone got back to me but, I am grateful for those who did. I'm not sure the best way to do this, being it my first time but, I thought I would just point out some interesting facts about the results instead of just making a list of who voted for what.

Only one album was voted on twice, the rest were all single votes. The interesting thing about the Album that got voted on twice was that it was voted on by members of the same family. Both my sister and I voted for Weezer's Blue Album, I know it not a big secret that the Hemond family is big Weezer fans, but I thought it was cool that my blasting that Album from my room for months straight actually got my sister to like it :)

Out of all the votes only one person picked something from the R&B genre and that would be Rabecca with her pick for Brian McKnight's Back at One.

Another only one vote getter was the Genre of Rap, this really shocked me with such rap fans voting such and Joe, Jess, Matty P but, the vote was actually from Mark Page with his pick for Dr. Dre's Chronic.

We had some votes for classic music with Corie voting for Simon and Garfunkle's the best of Album and Matt Nolte voting for Pink Floyd's The Wall.

We had a few no big surprises with well Mine and my sisters pick of Weezer's the Blue Album, Ryan's pick of Radiohead's In Rainbows, Aaron Dallman's pick of Stevie Ray Vaughn's Couldn't Stand the Weather and Eric Stelmach's pick of Coheed and Cambria's In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth.

We had one, ONLY one vote for something instrumental with Jason Caron's vote for Kingdom Melodies, although I have been in his car before and have heard gangsta rap blaring, not song number 202 so I have a feeling his vote was a little off but, who am I to judge.

At this point I have almost gave you everyone's vote so I might as well just give you the rest.

We saw some peoples softer sides with Justin's Pick of Postal Service's Give Up.

We got a taste of the violin with Kevin Zeal's pick of Dave Matthews Band Crash.

We got the weird hair side with Jo Jo's pick of The Cure's Wish.

We found out Matty P loves bald guys named Billy with his pick Smashing Pumpkin's Siamese Dream (by the way I hate bald guys named Billy, my jerk boss fits the same description)

We learned that Jess Barbs wishes she was Gwyneth Paltrow with her pick of Coldplay's Rush of Blood to the Head.

We now know for sure that these three are EMO with Jackie's pick of Panic at the Disco's self titled Album, Kyle Peter's Pick of Rise Against Appeal to Reason and Zach Bishop's pick of Taking Back Sunday's Where you want to Be.

Only 2 more

Well we all knew it but no one wanted to say it, Jenn Page is a Punk with her pick of Blink 182's Dude Ranch.

and last but, not least, well actually least because I don't know this band, Jared Dallman's pick of Jurassic 5's Power in Numbers.

Well I want to thank everyone again for voting, around 9am Friday you will hear from me again with another "Question of the Week" I hope you all had as much fun as I did and I hope you all have yourselves a great weekend.

Friday Questions of the Week

Today is the first day I have implemented my new project. The "Question of the Week" project, is where I send out a simple opinion question on every Friday morning via. the text message and I write down the replies I get. After that I will use my blog to talk about the answers I received and tell you what I picked an why. I will also go over some of the answers that come back the same or similar. I think it will be a good way for everyone to get to know each other and it be fun at the same time. I'm really hoping for some good responses and some stuff to work with, so if you have a reason you picked your answer let me know.

I'm going to shoot for sending out the questions around 9am, I will wait till the end of the day to compile all the information and write a blog about it, most likely after 3pm. Please try to get your answers in as soon as you can, so that your vote counts. Thanks and I hope this project is enjoyable for everyone.

Band Practice

Well tonight "The Alliance" is having another band practice, YAY! We will probably work on the songs we have and work on some new stuff. I got a text from our Rhythm guitarist this week saying he wrote some music and we just meed to lay down some lyrics, so I'm really looking forward to it. As of right now we have 5 originals "End of time", "Sugar Shack, "I don't know", "Hot Dogs" and "Hoe fo sho". The bands personal favorites are "End of time", "Sugar Shack" and "Hoe fo sho". Hopefully tonight we will add a few more. We are hoping to fit in a trip to Daddies to pick up some more equipment, but we will see how that goes. Well I should be going.

The Alliance

Well a few weeks ago me and a few friends got together to play some music and pretty much just jam. Originally it was just for fun and we were not really planning on doing much with it. Well the night ended up being so much fun that we set another date to get together and play. Well slowly over time we realized we were having so much fun that we would keep the group and make a little band. Our working band name is "The Alliance" basically because we could not think of anything else to call ourselves. "The Alliance" consists of Aaron Dallman (rhythm guitar, harmonica and sometimes lead guitar), Jared Dallman (Lead Guitar and sometimes rhythm Guitar), Eric Stelmach (Drummer) and Myself (singer and Tambourine). Anyways on Friday night when we got together for our last jam meet we wrote a few of our own songs. For me it was my first step into writing music lyrics. I have always loved to write fiction but lyrics seemed like such a hard thing to come up with. Well, it was such a cool experience. Within I would say an hour we had written 5 songs, 3 of which are actually good (not to toot my own horn). It was such a blast and we are going to do it again for sure. Well I just noticed the time and I have to go but I will write more later.
