Free iTunes Downloads of the week

Type: Free Song
Artist: Easton Corbin
Song: A Little More Country Than That
Genre: Country
Rating: 2-Stars

Typical country song. I'm not a fan of the genre but if you are I'm sure you would consider this a great download. For me though, it's not worth the space on my hard drive.

Type: Free Song
Artist: Jets Overhead
Song: Heading For Nowhere
Genre: rock
Rating: 3-Stars

I like this song enough to download. It has the feel of a 'Beck' song with female harmony. I say get it what do you have to lose? It's free!

Type: Free Video
Artist: Mariah Carey
Song: Up Out My Face (Feat. Nicki Minaj)
Genre: Pop
Rating 0-Stars

This is utter garbage. I don't know who would want this video! Mariah shows her age wearing a latex nurse outfit. Corny, Corny, Corny! Ugh...It pains me that this girl has made millions of dollars. Mariah go back to school and learn how to speak proper English! What is 'Up Out My Face' anyways? Don't download this crap!!!

Free iTunes Downloads of the week

Type: Free Song
Artist: Broken Bells
Song: The High Road
Genre: Alternative
Rating: 4-Stars

This group is a collaboration of two people you may have heard before. Brian Burton who is in the bands 'Gnarles Barkley' and 'Danger Boom', also James Mercer who is in 'The Shins'. I like the sound a lot. It has an almost 'Gorillaz' feel which should not be surprising since Brian Burton has worked with them. I would say this is a download for sure.

Type: Free Song
Artist: The soft Pack
Song: C'mon
Genre: Alternative
Rating: 4-Stars

Very catchy, I can see this song being a hit. I think it's a download with out a doubt. I wish iTunes gave out quality like this every week.

Type: Free Video
Artist: Land of Talk
Song: It's Okay
Genre: Alternative
Rating: 4-Stars

I like this song and video. The sound is nice and slow, soft and smooth, very enjoyable. The lead vocals Elizabeth Powell also from 'Broken Social Scene' voice is almost angelic. The light and airy sound is great easy listening. I think it's a good download.

So over all this week I think you can't miss. All three have chances of becoming hits, you might as well pick them up when they are free, instead of shelling out .99 cents later.

Free iTunes Downloads of the week

I have come up with a new simple way to rate the Free iTunes DL's of the week. It's a star system.

5-Stars = Totally Awesome! It makes me want to buy the whole CD.

4- Stars = I like it! I'm going to look more into this band.

3-Stars = It's Okay. I'll download it because it's free.

2-Stars = Ugh...Not my thing, maybe it's just me.

1-Star = Awful! I hate it.

0-Star = Vomit...I hate it so much it make me physically ill to listen too.

So know that you know the rating system...Here is the:

Free iTunes Downloads of the Week!

Type: Free Song
Artist: V.V. Brown
Song: Shark in the water
Genre: Pop
Rating: 3-Stars

I like it enough to down load for free. Song sounds like something I have heard before, and the style is not really my thing. I can see this song catching on though and being a hit.

Type: Free Song
Artist: Millionyoung
Song: Cynthia
Genre: Electronica
Rating: 3-Stars

I like some electronica, but this is not my favorite by far. I think it's good enough to DL for free, but it's not a song you will find yourself listening to a lot.

Type: Free Music Video
Artist: Tokieo Hotel
Song: World Behind my Wall
Genre: Pop
Rating: 3-Stars

Again this is not really my thing. The band is pretty goofy looking. It's hard to tell if the lead singer is male or female, but the sound is pretty catchy. It's a good free DL.
