Forum!?

I was thinking about adding a Forum to my blog, but have questions on how it would work. I would like it to directly link this blog and be some what easy to use. In browsing the inter web for such free forum hosting sites I seem to have come up short. I was hoping that someone out there in the Blogger community might be able to help me out. I would like to keep it free since my blogging does not bring in revenue and it's something I do in my spare time, as of right now anyways. If you can think of any thing send me an email to lightsonanemptystreet@gmail.com or leave a comment. Thanks!

Free iTunes Download's of the Week

1st Free Song

Love is Dead by The Lovemakers

Genre: Pop/Rock

This song is not to bad. Sounds a bit familiar, like a song you have heard before but can't quite figure out where. Does not blow your socks off, but does not waste valuable space on your HDD either.

2nd Free Song

Even If IT Breaks Your Heart by Will Hoge

Genre: Rock

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible! I hated this song! I think they put it in the wrong genre, It sounded country to me and anyone who has read my previous posts on country knows that, I hate country music! This song sounds just like everything else I have ever heard, there is no originality. His voice reminds me of Tom Petty mixed with Billy Ray Cyrus...Believe me, It's a strange mix. Someone left the comment on iTunes that this song "is America's Music". If that's the case then it really is a sad state of things over here in the great US of A...Yee Haw, Partna! Hey everyone is entitled to listen to whatever type of music they want, But to label this song as 'America's Music' leaves a lot of people out, including me! In my opinion Punk Rock is America's Music...Wasn't this country formed on the ideals of rebels. Those who opposed the kings Ideas and wanted freedom...Anarchy! Well anyways don't waste the space on your HDD.

New Michael Moore Movie

There is a new Michael Moore movie coming out that looks pretty good. I think I'll have to check it out when it's released.

Documentary Night

A group of friends and myself got together a few weeks ago to have a 'Documentary Night'. The Basic Premise of 'Documentary Night' is as you probably guessed to watch Documentaries. We started off by watching 'Why We Fight', which had come highly recommended by a few friends of ours. This movie really lived up to it's expectations and by the end I don't think there was a totally dry eye in the room. It was very moving movie but at the same time it was completely depressing.

To lighten the mood a bit, for the second documentary we watched a movie called 'King of Kong: Fist Full of Quarters'. This movie was about the guy who tried to take down the world record holder on 'Donkey Kong'. This was really such a great movie and we all really enjoyed it. It had the perfect mix of being comical, sad and serious, it also had a way of drawing you into the main characters and feeling like you knew them personally.

All in all, I would recommend both Documentaries. Though both are vastly different both are enjoyable in their own ways.

RockBand DLC

Freezepop – “Get Ready 2 Rokk” *
Freezepop – “Less Talk More Rokk” *
Freezepop – “Science Genius Girl” *

Jonathan Coulton – “Re: Your Brains” *

MC Frontalot – “Origin of Species” *

Paul & Storm – “Opening Band” *

3 Doors Down – “Kryptonite”

AFI – “Miss Murder”

Audioslave – “Gasoline”

Jackson 5 – “ABC”

what a strange mix...I guess it's not all bad, Just most of it. Although I do love Jonathan Coulton...Rock Band could use more of his songs.

Smile and Laugh

Rivers and Rainn

My 2 favorite people

Free iTunes Download's of the Week

Only one free song this week, I guess apple must be having trouble paying the bills so they have been cheaping out on us.

The One by Slaughterhouse

Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

It's rap, I'm not sure what else to say. It had a catchy beat but then when I heard the chorus about Sex, drugs and Dirty money it remind me that pretty much all rap is the same. The song maybe called 'The One' but this one is not for me.

Amazing Beatbox Kid

Twitter Craze!

I must admit a while back in November I signed my self up for a twitter account. It was back before anyone knew what twitter was, before it blew up into what it is today. Since November I think I wrote a total of 2 Tweet's, It did not seem like something i could get into. Just a few days ago I went back, I must say I really like it. It's fun to make statements throughout the day, and see what everyone else is up to. I also follow some funny people on it. One in particular is Rain Wilson (rainnwilson, his twitter name), He says the funniest things, it's nice to smile and laugh a little when your at work. Well anyways i just wanted to let everyone know. You can find me on there if you go to the sight and look up 'Josh Hemond' or my user name is 'wildjosh'.

Free iTunes Download's of the Week

Only one Free song this week, I guess iTunes is getting cheap on us.

Love Lives On by Mallary Hope

Genre: Country

Ugh...This is a stereotypical country song, with southern twang included, free of charge of course. Boring, Boring, Boring! Maybe if you like country you will like this song, but I'm not a fan of the genre. It reminds me a bit of life in a trailer park, not one of those nice ones either. I mean the ones where your trailer is on cinder blocks and your lawn decorations are pink flamingos. Don't waste the space on your Hard Drive!

Funny Email (Must Read!!)

I got an Email that had funny things people say. Well that email was very long so I pulled out a few of my favorites and a few that I have said to myself before...Enjoy!

-I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

-Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

-I don't understand the purpose of the line, "I don't need to drink to have fun." Great, no one does. But why start a fire with flint and sticks when they've invented the lighter?

-I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

-There is a great need for sarcasm font.

-Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.

-I think everyone has a movie that they love so much, it actually becomes stressful to watch it with other people. I'll end up wasting 90 minutes shiftily glancing around to confirm that everyone's laughing at the right parts, then making sure I laugh just a little bit harder (and a millisecond earlier) to prove that I'm still the only one who really, really gets it.

-How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

-I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

- I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

-The only time I look forward to a red light is when I’m trying to finish a text.

- Lol has gone from meaning, "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say".

- I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

- Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart".

- How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear what they said?

- Every time I have to spell a word over the phone using 'as in' examples, I will undoubtedly draw a blank and sound like a complete idiot. Today I had to spell my boss's last name to an attorney and said "Yes that's G as in...(10 second lapse)..ummm...Goonies"

-What would happen if I hired two private investigators to follow each other?

- While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and instinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart.

- MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

- Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

-I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

- Bad decisions make good stories

-If Carmen San Diego and Waldo ever got together, their offspring would probably just be completely invisible.

-Why is it that during an ice-breaker, when the whole room has to go around and say their name and where they are from, I get so incredibly nervous? Like I know my name, I know where I'm from, this shouldn't be a problem....

-You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day.

-I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

- "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this ever.

-I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? I bet everyone is wishing we weren't watching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up and leave the room. Will we still be friends after this?'

-I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Darnit), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

-I like all of the music in my iTunes, except when it's on shuffle, then I like about one in every fifteen songs in my iTunes.

-Why is a school zone 20 mph? That seems like the optimal cruising speed for pedophiles...

- As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate cyclists.

-Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

-It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood.

-I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

-Even if I knew your social security number, I wouldn't know what do to with it.

-I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lites than Kay.

Can you find me?

Oh Crap!

You wake up in the morning and slither out of bed. Maybe you slip on your slippers and PJ's. Stroll to the kitchen for a cup of joe and glare out the window to see....
All you can say is....Oh Crap!

Not a bad song but, not really my style. Sounds a bit like someone I have heard before.

2nd Song

Not a great song, a bit on the boring side for Electronic.

Cowboy Bebop Live Action Movie

It has been announced that 'Fox' is making a movie based on the anime series 'Cowboy Bebop'. This news is especially good for me since I love Anime and 'Cowboy Bebop' was the first series that started it all for me. So far the only actor that has been announced as signing on is Keanu Reeves who signed on to play the lead character 'Spike'.

Spike:

Jet:

Ed and Ein:

Faye Valentine:
For those who don't know the plot of 'Cowboy Bebop' that date is in the 2070's and it follows a group of bounty hunters who struggle to make a living in the galaxy. The ship they fly is called the 'Bebop' and they always seem to find themselves in quite a predicament.

Free iTunes Download's of the Week

1st Download

Wonderful by Gary Go

Genre: Pop

I was not really feeling this song, it was okay. I think it's just not my style more then anything. I mean the quality of vocals was okay and the music was fine, It was just missing something for me. Like listening to something with no substance.

2nd Download

Apolkalypse Now by Polkastra

Genre: World

If you like Polka then you will love this download, if not well you will probably feel as I did. I laughed and thought 'oh this is cute' I chuckled a few more times and then I got bored and shut it off.

All in all these two songs were forgettable and I would not download either.

Free iTunes Download's of the Week

Well like usual we have 2 Free iTunes downloads this week.

1st Download

Bestia by Hello Seahorse!

Genre: Alternativo & Rock Latino

Not a bad sound I just wish I knew what she was saying. Besides that I kind of liked it. Much better then the Regaetone I'm used to here the Latino guys play at work.

2nd Download

Push to Freeze by Sorcerer

Genre: Electronic

When this song first started playing I thought it had lots on potential, but then i got bored with it. It carried the same tune for most of it without much change and it was softer then I'm used to my Electronic being. Over all I think it was...Blah! Not Great but not Terrible either.

The Adventures of Mr. Fingie August 6th

The temperature recently has made Mr. fingie's life miserable. All he feels like doing is stripping down and laying in front of an Air Conditioner. He dreams of days when he will bask in the heat on a chair as scantily clad lady fingies fan him with palm Branch's and feed him exotic fruit. For now though he will stick with his water bottle and keep on dreaming.

You see he partied all weekend long and when his radio alarm went of this morning he wished it was all a bad dream. He shuffled out of bed walked into the kitchen and looked into the fridge. His eyes darted around...Milk, OJ, Iced Tea....Oh look Pepperoncinis! He quickly downed the whole jar letting the burn over take his body. Now wide awake Mr. Fingie was ready to start his day.

The Adventures of Mr. Fingie July 30th

Oh...The Heat! Mr. Fingie prayed for good weather the better part of the end of spring and summer and now that it is here he is praying for an air conditioner. The humidity is rough on poor Mr. Fingie and it slows his speed drastically. As he searches around for an 'AC' all he can find to cool him down is a can of 'Freezer'. Ahh...the chill of liquid nitrogen! Cools to a balmy temperature of -62F. Now that's cold!

Only in America

Only in America do you find Chipmunks with Weight Issues

Free iTunes Download's of the Week

This week like usual there are 2 songs available for download.

1st Free Song

On My Way by Billy Boy on Poison

Genre: Rock

This song is okay but I was not really feeling it. If your a big rock fan I would say go ahead download it what do you have to lose really, it's Free. As far as I'm concerned I'm not going to waste the space on my Hard Drive.

2nd Free Song

You Can Make it by Hill Country Revue

Genre: Rock

I liked this song quite a bit. I feel like they got the Genre wrong though, this song is pretty bluesy but does have that rock feel sort of like the Allman Brother or ZZ Top. Some of the members of this band are in a band called The North Mississippi Allstars. I saw them back in October and they were great. I don't feel like 'HCR' is as good as 'NMA' but I think its definitely worth the download.

The Adventures of Mr. Fingie July 28th

Mr. Fingie is pretty handy (No Pun Intended). He's always tinkering with little gadgets and thing-a-ma-bobs. One time he made a Tazer from an electric shaver and a tube sock, it was quite impressive. Sometimes Mr. Fingie and Joe (one of Mr. Fingie's work buddies), will take apart switch boxes and make nerdy gadgets out of them. They'll laugh, have tickle fart fights and talk about electronic theory and whether its better to use capacitors or resisters.

I'll bring The Bible, an Harmonica and picture of my family to the slammer

The Bible, an Harmonica and picture of my family
You have to keep your mind on whats important.

The question was, what Three things would you bring if you got put in jail?

The Adventures of Mr. Fingie July 22nd

Mr. Fingie does not have any pets, so today he decided to change that. While shopping at the local grocery store he came across a whole bag of easy to care for pets 'Goldfish'. "How wonderful" he told himself, "No special requirements". At first glance the 'Goldfish' seemed like a perfect pet for a simple index finger like himself. He would not have to worry about feeding them or changing their water even, just every once in a while he would poke his head into the bag to see how they were. Slowly though after poking his head in several times he noticed their lackadaisical attitude. They never moved, seemed excited to see him or even acknowledged him at all. One time when Mr. Fingie poked his head in, he pulled one little 'Goldfish' out. Staring at the little guy he started to get hungry. He quickly popped it into his mouth and ate it. The crunchy cheddar was like an explosion on his taste buds and he downed the whole bag rather quickly. well I guess to make a long story short, Mr. Fingie is looking for a new easy to care for pet....Have any ideas?
P.S. Mr. Fingie is going to be gone for a few day. He will be back though on Mondy July 27th!

The Adventures of Mr. Fingie July 21st

Oh No! Mr. Fingie was left in a dark non-ventilated closet to clean up a mess. He was handed a very powerful cleaner called Goof-Off and has accidentally gotten himself wicked high. The unseen vapors pouring from the bottle quickly filled his nostrils and went straight to his brain. Cleaning a closet has never been so fun / or bad for you. Luckily Cap'n Chicken was walking by and heard the faint sound of Mr. Fingie passing out and stubbing himself into the ground. It looks like Mr. Fingie will be just fine. Phew! What would the world do with out Mr. Fingie?

The Adventures of Mr. Fingie July 20th

Mr. Fingie has stank breath this morning! He tried to cover it up with Tic-Tacs, Mouth wash and breath strips but, nothing seems to be helping. It's like he woofed down a crap sandwich for breakfast and washed it down with a glass of bile. There must be something Mr. Fingie can do, even his new friend Cap'n Chicken will not talk to him. Finally he remembers the spare tooth brush he hides behind the men's room toilet...There all better! Squeaky clean and minty fresh!

The Adventures of Mr. Fingie July 16th

Today Mr. Fingie made a new friend at work, Cap'n Chicken. Although the Capn'n seems a little bossy and out there, he really gets Mr. Fingie's sense of humor often laughing hysterically at everything he says. The only thing that Mr. Fingie doesn't really understand is all the talk about booty, well that and plank walking. He figures that plank walking is some kind of tribute to Michael Jackson and his moon walking. Cap'n Chicken also doesn't mind drinking at work, that makes Mr. Fingie a little uneasy. Lets hope this new influence doesn't taint Mr. Fingie's fine reputation.

Grand Funk Railroad

I never knew that the drummer in Grand Funk Railroad sang. Man that's tough!

Big News for Becky

A few days ago I contacted a local studio to see if they were in need of a Female Vocalist for some studio session work. This morning we heard back, they listened to her music and said they definitely want to use her when they have work. At this point it's nothing steady, more of a she can work when they get stuff but, it's huge to get her foot in the door. We will see where it will lead but, she is very excited.

Gratz Hun!

*For those who don't know me personally, My wife's name is Becky and she Sings.*
