Real Sales

At work when stuff comes in it goes to an area called the A-Line. There it is assessed and either disassembled or saved to be sold. When the A-Line discovers an item that may still have value they tag it Re-Sale and send it up to me, as in the picture above. The problem is Re-Sale is a hard word to spell, so it often is spelled like the picture below, Real Sales. I like it when they spell it Real Sales better because it makes me smile, it also makes me realize stuff that could potentially be worth hundreds if not thousands of dollars is decided on by a group that can't spell Re-Sale. It's the little things that get you through the work day :)

Sick :(

Well after being sick all weekend I finally went to the Doctor yesterday. The good news, It's not swine Flu. The bad news, It's everything else. I have the Regular Flu, Allergies, A really bad asthma flare up and maybe a slight case of pneumonia. More good news is after being on the right meds for one day I have seen a big improvement, I should be back to work tomorrow.

The Original Lolcat

I searched and found the original lolcat, yes the one that started it all. "I Can Has Cheezburger?"

Lolcat Crazy!

Whats the deal with the new lolcat craze? I don't get it!

Let me explain, I kept seeing shirts and different items online that were saying "I can haz Cheezburger". I had no Idea what the heck this meant and where it came from. So I decided to do a little investigating.

My investigation started by asking all the "cool" teenagers (Joe, Stelmach and Jackie) that I work with, what "I can haz cheezburger" meant. Surprisingly Joe had the most insight on the phenomena. "It's an lolcat" he told me, as if I was supposed to understand what that meant. He then hopped onto the interweb and brought me to a website called:

http://icanhascheezburger.com/

A site purely devoted to lolcats. My first impression was it was a big stupid waste of time. I mean people taking pictures of their cats and adding quirky subtitles, sounds like something you would find boring house wives doing while they watched "the view" or "Oprah". I could see the character Angela from "the office" being very into lolcats, but why teenagers? What interest do teenagers have in cats? When I was a teenager my interests were pretty simple, girls and fun. Cats never fit into the equation. The more I kept looking at the lolcats though I found myself chuckling at the cutesy cats. Then I wanted to see more and more, I kept searching and looking, browsing google for more lolcats. Well maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration, but I did find myself rather enjoying the lolcats. Now i'm not going to go out there and buy a "I can haz cheezburger" t-shirt, I don't have an lolcat as my PCs wallpaper or screen saver and I definitely wouldn't make my own lolcats using my own semi retarded animals. I would however check it out now and again, maybe getting a few lol's.

What I find most amusing about the whole thing is that it was all a brain child of someone. I have know idea who but, someone took a picture of their cat and added a cute little subtitle and now people are making money on that idea. I can't figure out if this world has gotten so dumbed down that even stupid things are funny or if lolcats are just plain genius and its what we need in the rough times we are living in, to look at something so Innocent and cute as a cat and giggle. So in the end, here's to you lolcats.

The Sad Truth

Humans have known for years about the dangers of pollution and yet nothing has stopped them from dumping countless amounts of junk. Maybe we don't see it here, where laws regulate it and organizations profit from it. But it still is happening, whether through ignorance, greed or laziness, the beautiful earth seems to be getting so polluted you wonder how much worse can it get before someone steps in.

Matt and Gary

This is possibly my favorite picture of all time. Every time I look at it no matter how crumby I feel or how terrible my day is, it makes me smile and remember the time when I was privileged enough to be able to hang out with these two, everyday out in service. Ah... the good old days.

Light's on an Empty Street's New Look

I an effort to be more proactive with the blog I have decided to work on it a little harder. Yeah, some of the new content may be small and meaningless to some but, I really like it. If you have comments to make about a certain post, by all means go right ahead a make them. If you feel like being a jerk and picking at every little thing I do, please find another blog to read. I write this blog for fun, I don't get paid! So since I'm not getting paid to put up with crap, I really don't mind telling people who don't like what I write or post to BUZZ off. Now, to other matters at hand. I'm going to try to post daily and as often as I can. I really want to make this blog into something that my friends want to read and check out frequently. Let me know what I can do to better achieve my goal. I also want to thank everyone who does come and check out whats going on here at "Lights on an Empty Street", So Thank You. Well I got to get going,

Peace
